Since Valentine’s day is next Tuesday, Jeff and I decided we will do early Valentine’s date. We went yesterday and Jeff basically took me everywhere! First we went to watch a movie called Chronicle. It was interesting movie to analyze actually. Then I wanted to go to Anneberg Space of Photography to check out 3D photos and for my photography class, ha! It was small exhibition but there are some really nice photos with stories behind it. Creating 3D photos is a little bit complicated though to me, at least. Then we head off to a small nice restaurant, Larchmont Grill! Definitely very nice, as in tad fancy. But it is oh so yummy!
We started with an appetizer.
Calamari! I love calamari! I wouldn’t say it is the best calamari I’ve tasted but it is so tender that when you bite it off, you’re not biting a whole piece out of the crispy shell.
Then our main dishes arrive. Here is Jeff with Lobster Mac N’ Cheese. Not too cheesy but several chunks of lobster. Mmm, lobsters!
And I had Orechietta “Little Ears” Pasta which is pasta with broccoli rabe, ground Italian sausage (very strong in spices!), parmasean cheese, garlic, and olive oil. Really simple but yummy! Fun fact: See the man behind me? That’s Tim Curry. Yes, he was eating there. No, I did not freak out or ask him for an autograph. But it’s Tim Curry!
We were so full that we did not order any desserts. But I remembered we were supposed to make caramel popcorns so we made it today instead. Following Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn recipe with a lot of adaption. Instead of melted chocolate chips, I had this chocolate caramel dessert sauce. It ended up still delicious even though the sauce was strong in flavor.
Look at that sweet popcorn goodness! I still have some 8 cups of popcorn leftover so we’ll mix it up for our movie night with our roommates. Booyah! The weekend is not over but it’s a good one so far! :) Ah everything is better when there’s some good foods!
Eat foods and be happy!
